Elina Raijas made her master’s degree in flute playing in the Sibelius Academy in 1999. Before that she studied also in the Musikhochschule Karslruhe in 1996-1997 with Renate Greiss-Armin and Mathias Alin.
In 1997 Raijas started as the principal flute in the Joensuu City Orchestra, then worked in the Tampere Philharmonia and the Helsinki Philharmonics before settling back as the principal flute in Joensuu in 2013. Presently she is playing in the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.
Raijas is also active as a chamber musician and she has been performing widely in the most important chamber music festivals in Finland.
