Hannu Perttilä has since 2015 worked as the principal oboe in the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also worked in the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta and the City Orchestra of Lappeenranta.
Perttilä’s most important teachers have been Timo Lehtonen and in the Sibelius Academy Jouko Teikari and Jorma Valjakka. Special influence has been Perttilä’s legendary predecessor in the Helsinki Philharmonic Aale Lindgren.
Perttilä performs a lot of chamber music and the most important ensemble at the moment is the Lunga Wind Quintet.
