Pekko Käppi is a virtuoso of the traditional Finnish bowed lyre, jouhikko, and a shaman of new generation of Finnish folk music. His band K:H:H:L – freely translated as The Band of Bone of Boisterous Dead Equines – is combining blues and rock with folk music and traditional beliefs and rituals. The dark and wild side of the music comes often with the texts and the very personal sound world of Käppi and his band has been described also as a sort of Finnish voodoo.

Their so far two albums – Sanguis meus, mama! and Matilda – have been media successes – with their modern fusion of traditional elements and national psychology.
