Tuulia Ylönen

Tuulia Ylönen has studied clarinet with Osmo Vänskä, Reijo Koskinen. Kari Kriikku and Charles Neidich., and in London especially with John MacCawn and Michael Collins.

She has also taken part in chamber music courses led by Thomas Friedlin, György Kurtág and Ralf Gothóni. Ylönen received her clarinet diploma in the Sibelius Academy in 1995 with summa cum laude and had her debut concert a year later.

Since then she has performed as a chamber musician in the Kuhmo, Naantali and Kemiö Music Festivals and in the Crusell Music Festival in Uusikaupunki. In Europe she has visited as clarinet player in the Lockenhaus Festival.

Ylönen has been an active member in the Zagros Ensemble. Between 2003-2005 she worked as the principal clarinet in the Sinfonia Lahti and at present she is the principal clarinet in the Finnish National Opera.
