Ville Herrala started with piano in 1986 in Turku Conservatory, but turned soon in to guitar and double bass. He then continued his studies with jazz bass in the Sibelius Academy, from where he graduated in 2010.
By then he had already won recognition in Finnish Young Nordic Jazz Comets Competition and as a member of Tetra and Reactor-5 ensembles.
Presently Herrala is one of the most versatile and active musicians in Finnish jazz scene. He has been playing with ia. Jukka Perko, Severi Pyysalo, Jukkis Uotila, UMO, Karita Mattila, Jerry Bergonzi, Phil Markovitz, John Tchicai and Cuong Wo.
