Many thanks to all the creators and enablers of a great festival. Welcome to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of B.H. Crusell in Uusikaupunki from 28 July to 3 August 2025 to enjoy the summer, great concerts and a maritime atmosphere together with other music lovers.

Crusell Music Festival would like to thank the public, artists, teachers, course participants, Crusell-women, staff and many different local actors that were involved in making the festival happen this year.

Crusel Music Festival in Uusikaupunki is an internationally recognised event.
It is a unique festival focusing on woodwind music. It is named after Bernhard Henrik Crusell, the most significant Finnish musician, clarinetist and composer of his time, who was born in the town.

The week’s concerts include classical chamber and orchestral music, jazz, folk and children’s music. The event’s international masterclasses provide inspiration and guidance to young, aspiring musicians. The course is led by top international teachers and artists, who also perform in concerts of Crusell Music Festival.

 

 

Over the years, Crusell Music Festival has been led by many internationally renowned Finnish musicians, including Osmo Vänskä, Kari Kriikku and Petri Alanko. The current artistic director is Olli Leppäniemi, clarinetist and sound director of the Tapiola Sinfonietta.

Crusel Music Festival is supported by the City of Uusikaupunki, several companies, Arts Promotion Centre Finland Taike and Finnish Music Foundation MES.
