World-renowned woodwind players to give masterclasses in Uusikaupunki, Finland, in 2026!
Crusell Music Festival in Uusikaupunki, Finland, is one of the few festivals in the world focused around woodwind instruments. Next summer will be the 45th edition of the Crusell Music Festival, and the festival will take place July 27-August 2. In addition to fantastic chamber music concerts, Crusell Music Festival organizes annual masterclasses. We are proud to present some of the world’s finest woodwind artists and pedagogues as our teachers each year.
In 2026 the Crusell Music Festival will organize masterclasses for flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon. In addition to the masterclasses, the festival will host flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon courses, aimed for both younger and older woodwind enthusiasts and students.
We at the Crusell Music Festival want to make our festival a meeting place for woodwind professionals from both the orchestral and teaching fields. We would like to warmly welcome you to further your knowledge as a performer or as a teacher by following our masterclasses. You can follow the masterclasses by buying a passive student’s pass. With a student pass you can follow the masterclasses and learn the teaching methods of our guest teachers, get new inspiration as well as create some international relations and networks.

Adriana Ferreira, flute masterclass
Adriana Ferreira is Principal Flute of the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. She previously held the same position with the Rotterdam Philharmonic and served as Associate Principal Flute of the Orchestre National de France in Paris.
She is a prize winner of major international competitions, including First Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Flute Competition.
Born in Portugal, Adriana Ferreira graduated from the Paris Conservatoire under Sophie Cherrier and Vincent Lucas, as a laureate of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon. She also studied with Benoît Fromanger at the Hochschule Hanns Eisler Berlin and holds a degree in Musicology from the Paris-Sorbonne University.
Kaisa Kortelainen, flute course
Since 2018, Kaisa Kortelainen has served as Second Principal Flute of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and in 2022 she joined the principal players of the Avanti! Chamber Orchestra. Alongside her orchestral career, Kortelainen is deeply engaged in contemporary music, has studied early music on period instruments, and has planned and produced festivals and concert projects.
Nora Cismondi, oboe masterclass
After receiving first prizes in oboe and chamber music from the Conservatoire national de Paris in the classes of J.L. Capezzali, Jacques Tys and David Walter, Nora Cismondi studied with Maurice Bourgue.
Winner of international competitions such as the Prague Spring in 2001, the Toulon Competition in 2002, the ARD in Munich in 2003 and the Sonymusic Foundation Tokyo Competition in 2006, she has performed as a soloist in many European venues. Recognized by her peers, she was named Révélation Classique de l’Adami in 2005 at the MIDEM in Cannes.
After 7 seasons with the orchestra of the Opéra national de Paris, Nora Cismondi joined the Orchestre national de France in 2006 as principal oboe. At the same time, she is a regular guest of prestigious orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the National Academy of Saint Cecilia in Rome, as well as internationally renowned ensembles such as the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
Holder of the C.A. since 2006, she shares her experience during numerous masterclasses throughout Europe and Asia and will be entrusted with the oboe class of the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris in September 2012. Appointed First Oboe of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in 2018, she is chosen as a member of the Oboe teaching team of the Lausanne Haute École – HEMU with F. Thouand and C. Noël since 2023.
Anni Haapaniemi, oboe course
Oboist Anni Haapaniemi has studied oboe at the Sibelius Academy, as well as in Gothenburg, Geneva, and Paris. She has served as Principal Oboe of Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, and Tapiola Sinfonietta.
Nicolas Baldeyrou, clarinet masterclass
French clarinetist Nicolas Baldeyrou is Professor of clarinet at the CNSMD Lyon, as well as Visiting Professor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He currently serves as Principal Clarinet of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.
Success at major competitions such as the ARD International Music Competition in Munich has taken Baldeyrou to the world’s leading concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw, and the Wiener Konzerthaus.
Baldeyrou has recently appeared as soloist on period instruments with the Musiciens du Louvre-Marc Minkowski and the Concert de la Loge conducted by Julien Chauvin.
Baldeyrou is Buffet Crampon ambassador and a Vandoren artist.
Harri Mäki, clarinet course
Harri Mäki has been Professor of Woodwinds at the Sibelius Academy since 2016. He enjoys an international reputation as a pedagogue and gives masterclasses worldwide throughout the year. In addition to his teaching, Harri Mäki serves as Co-Coordinator of the Woodwind Academy together with Petri Alanko.
María José Rielo Blanco, bassoon masterclass
Spanish bassoonist María José Rielo Blanco is a member of the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. In addition, she teaches bassoon and chamber music at the Conservatorio Superior del Liceu and gives masterclasses throughout Spain.
As a soloist, she has performed with orchestras in Germany and Spain and has appeared at festivals such as the Schwetzingen SWR Festival and the Würzburg Mozart Festival. In September 2026, she will serve as a jury member of the ARD International Bassoon Competition in Munich.
Jaakko Luoma, bassoon course
Jaakko Luoma is Principal Bassoon of Tapiola Sinfonietta and also teaches bassoon at the Sibelius Academy. He has appeared extensively as a soloist in Finland and across Europe and is a regular guest at chamber music festivals.
